Sabre
Sabre Instrument Valves supply precision-engineered, specialised valves across the world.
In March 2021, only three working days after Mazars were appointed as administrators of Sabre Instrument Valves, Arkle Partners acquired the business and assets out of administration.
Sabre is a long-established valve manufacturer that was previously run as part of a family-owned group for over 60 years. Unfortunately, the company began to face financial difficulties that were magnified by a downturn in the oil and gas industries, particularly following the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Having seen success in the turnaround of Alco Valves Group, Arkle Partners recognised an opportunity in Sabre. Sabre had an experienced and dedicated team, strong customer relations, and enduring access to European markets.
The insolvency process negatively impacted sales, but we were able to retain key employees and relocate the business to run alongside Alco Valves Group. Our strategic restructuring of the business enabled Sabre to benefit from the expertise and support of a larger company.
As such, Sabre was able to ensure continued supply to its customers and maintain a strong reputation within the industry. Arkle Partners continued to work together with Alco and Sabre to integrate the broader strategies of the two companies.
Following the guidance and backing from both Arkle Partners and Alco Valves, Sabre’s performance picked up. Sabre continues to operate successfully as a key supplier to a wide range of industries across the world, and as a sister company to Alco Valves.
