Amsys
Amsys is an IT managed service provider with a successful and envied reputation as the UK’s Apple experts.
In 2001, the owner of Amsys, a successful IT managed-service provider, put his business up for sale.
The company had been consistently profitable since its launch in 1986, but the owner wanted to reduce his involvement. He started the search for someone to take over management of the business in 1996 but, having failed to find the right person after five years, he made the decision to sell.
The owner had a specific deal in mind, but buyers were put off by the fact that 85% of Amsys’ sales came from one client, Apple. The world had yet to see the iPod (launched later in 2001) and Apple wasn’t the tech giant that we know today.
However, Arkle saw the potential in Amsys and quickly agreed a deal with the owner. The owner received a seven-figure sum, part on completion and the balance over the following 36 months. The acquisition was concluded swiftly, reassuring staff and helping the company maintain its strong and stable position.
In 2013, Amsys was sold to the management team at the company. Today, Amsys is the UK’s largest service-only Apple Authorised Service Provider and the leading Apple Authorised Training Organisation in Europe.
